Welcome to our wedding website!
We are finding out just how much goes into planning a wedding. Every step is fun, there just seem to be so many of them.
I would like to mention our entourage! Some of the most important people involved in the wedding are of course the parents of the Bride and Groom! Parents of the Bride are Mark and Catherine Virkus and the Parents of the Groom are Dean Uftring and Lori Young. The Bridesmaids are: Amanda Virkus (Maid of Honor), Ashley Mihkelson, Allison Hourcade, and Melissa Uftring. The Groomsen are: Kevin Larson (Best Man), Adam Keshon, Thomas Bickel, and Eric Ortiz. We appreciate everything everyone listed above has done to help us with each step of the wedding!
We have decided that our wedding colors are to be Teal and Purple! Our Entourage is going to be adorned in a gorgeous shade of teal and many of the flowers will be Purple and Pink! The wedding gown has been chosen and ordered. It will be white and since that is all that groom wants to know about the dress, that is all that I am going to post about it here! The Bridesmaid have each chosen a dress from Alfred Angelo and they are going to look beautiful in their individual dresses. (Although, Mom says they are NOT allowed to outshine the bride.) We are still working on picking out tuxes from Savvi Formal Wear for the Groom and Groomsmen to wear. They are going to look dashing in whatever we choose.
The first, and what seemed to be the most difficult, step: we chose a venue. We decided that we wanted to have an outdoor wedding and have the ceremony and the reception in one place. Cafe DeMenil seems to be the perfect choice for this! If you want to find out more about the Cafe, their web address is http://www.cafedemenil.biz. This Cafe is where my parents had their reception twenty-seven years ago! We also think that it is neat that my Aunt Helen and Uncle Steve met at the Cafe DeMenil during my parent's reception. It holds so many fond memories for so many people it seems fitting that Leon and I should celebrate our union here as well. Cafe DeMenil is run by Daniel Belmont, who is the event coordinator as well. So far he has been very helpful and I am sure I will be communicating with him a lot more over the next few months.
Choosing the Officiant seemed to be an easy task for us. Leon really wanted Steve Malincrot to be the one to marry us. Steve is a Methodist Minister living in Fulton, Missouri and has known Leon pretty much his entire life. Steve has always been a good friend to Leon and his family and as I have gotten to know him, he has become a good friend of mine as well. I truly believe that Steve will help us make our ceremony even more special. Leon and I feel blessed that he would give us this honor.
Next, we chose our photographer. We met Barry Davis at a Bridal Show in St. Charles. We were very impressed with the greeting we received as well as his work and his supportive sidekicks. He had two young ladies with him that were just so excited to share the reasons why they had chosen Barry to photograph their weddings! It was almost like it was meant to be. His website is http://www.BarryDavis.biz. He looks very professional and creative, while bringing a touch of whimsy to the photographs. We are very exciting about working with him. We will have an engagement session in the near future, so when I have the pictures from that I post them for everyone to see and enjoy.
We chose our DJ and he seems to have a fun personality as well as an extensive list of music! The name of his company is DJ's To Go. Our DJ will double as our Master of Ceremonies and is named Bob. What wedding would be complete without a Bob?!!
We reserved some rooms at the Comfort Inn & Suites close to my parent’s home. We made reservations for the nights of the 4th, 5th, and 6th of September for anyone who would like to book a room! We reserved rooms with double queen beds, and all of the rooms are non-smoking. If you would like a smoking room, please let the hotel know and they will do what they can to accommodate you. Also, this hotel has an indoor pool and complimentary breakfast which, we were told, includes biscuits and gravy and “make your own” waffles! The rate for your room would be $55.99 per night! Please let them know that you are with the Virkus-Uftring wedding to guarantee your rate!
Here is the important information you will need about the hotel:
Comfort Inn & Suites
18375 Chesterfield Airport Rd
Chesterfield, MO 63005
Phone Number: 636-530-1200
Contact Name: Rhiannon
Reservation Name: Virkus-Uftring Wedding
There is a bit of a drive to the airport and to Café DeMenil from the hotel, but it is close to my parents’ home. The Rehersal dinner is going to be taking place at the Virkus Household in Wildwood, MO and also, we will be meeting the photographer at the same location the next morning. So it made sense for me to make arrangements for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to be able to stay pretty close to my parents’ home! Please feel free to email me at email@example.com with any questions!
We are thrilled that you have come to visit! This is a very exciting time and we are both very happy that you want to celebrate with us! The site will be updated as more information is acquired. We would love for you to leave us a message and add any pictures that you want to share!
Thank-you for your love and support during this most joyous occasion.
